The class list can be updated either by manually adding Google email addresses of the students or by letting students use their Google accounts to join the class.

The class access process is simplified with the use of a class code, found on the class group page. Once this code is entered in Google Classroom by the students, they become part of the respective class. Teachers can configure this section to allow students to post comments, ask queries, or submit assignments. However, unless so configured, only the creators will have the right to make posts on the page.

Real-time Collaboration and Monitoring

The Stream segment of the platform is where the crux of the classroom activity resides. It's where assignments, questions, and announcements are posted. This section becomes the hub of instructor-student interaction once all students have joined the class group.

Creating assignments here is straightforward, with options to upload instructions, set due dates, and topics. Google Classroom keeps track of these due dates, hence facilitating timely submissions. Any delay beyond the set date by students is automatically marked as overdue.

Attachable files can range from your computer files to Google Drive content, YouTube videos, and other educational or reference links. Assignments could include links redirecting to news articles, serving as writing tasks for students. Students' submissions can be attached directly to the assignment post – either as a Google Doc or a DOCX file – which the teacher can grade directly, provided they have an internet connection.
